- Abstract
The article presents a statistical case-study regarding the achievement associated with a school district committed to the implementation of the Intermediate Science Curriculum Study (ISCS) materials and instructional strategy in the U.S. The purpose of ISCS was to structure an individualized, self-paced, activity-centered, sequential set of materials for the intermediate grade. This study reveals that the ISCS instructional strategy is well suited to the initial learning styles of only a small portion of junior high students. It recommends that the successful implementation of the ISCS instructional strategies depend on the school district's commitment and teachers' preparation.
