- Abstract
The article summarizes the findings of an investigation conducted by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PDA) in February 2007 on the correlation of consuming raw milk, cheese and Salmonella (S.) typhimurium infection. The findings indicate a causal relation between 29 cases of diarrheal illness by S. typhimurium and consumption of raw-milk or raw-milk products through epidemiologic and laboratory investigation. These cases were reported to have taken place after consuming raw milk from dairy A.
