- Abstract
The article discusses a research on maize weevil's behavioral responses to harvested seeds of host plants. It states that the Sitophilus zeamais used in the research was obtained from a stock culture maintained by the Food and Research Agency (FERA). It adds that four-arm olfactometer bioassays were conducted for the behavioral response assessment of the adult maize weevil. It shows that both sexes of the weevil demonstrate strong attraction to maize and wheat seed volatiles.
