- Abstract
The stratigraphic correlation of wells is of utmost importance in the petroleum industry. Its objective is to determine the lateral continuity of the rocks. From this it is possible to define exploration strategies for an oil field, as well as the continuity of the reservoir. However, the stratigraphic correlation technique is not an easy task, and is subject to misinterpretation, due to geological variability and the ambiguity of the profiling tools' responses. In order to better understand and define the lateral continuity of the layers and reservoirs of the Namorado Field, Campos Basin - RJ. For this purpose three wells (NA45D, NA52D and NA49D) were selected with Gamma Ray, Resistivity, Neutron Porosity and Density profile data. The profiles were generated using LogPlot software and subsequently interpreted. The reservoir interval was identified in each well and correlated, which made it possible to observe the continuity of the Namorado Field reservoir and its heterogeneity.
