- Abstract
Recent migration studies have prompted Roman historiography, in recent decades, to review mobility and migration in Greco-Roman antiquity. The main purpose of this article is to analyze the migration in the second century after Christ of the governor Pliny the Younger to the eastern province of Bithynia-Ponto. This study is developed methodologically through its main source, the Epistolary, whose literary wealth provides countless keys for the study of human mobility as a pattern of behavior, describing aspects of migration to cities and making it possible to reconstruct the roles played. by displaced public officials, travel, ethnic, cultural and multicultural relations that occur in the empire, seen by an expert jurist, politician and writer of the high empire.
