- Abstract
The article presents information on the marketing implications of procedural and legal developments. The article discusses the National Organization for Women (NOW), Inc. et al. v. Joseph M. Scheidler, et al. and NOW's pursuit of antiabortion activists who disrupted abortion clinics on the grounds of illegal restraint of trade in violation of antitrust laws. The article traces the evolution of this action, including the court's dismissal of claim because the nature of the protest was not to suppress competition, monopolize supply, control price, or discriminate as defined by the Sherman Act. Additional discussion concerning legal representation of Northwest Airlines by Vinson-Elkins in an antitrust case against American Airlines, who had previously been represented by Vinson-Elkins.
