Competitive Bidding for Marketing Research Services?

- Abstract
The article reports on the practice of competitive bidding in the business world. The author questions whether or not competitive bidding is an efficient way to secure marketing research. It is suggested that the bidding process, including the drawing up of contracts, be modified to simplify the competitive purchasing process. Methods that may be employed to alleviate costs associated with purchasing practices, including marketing personnel costs, are recommended. The author evaluates bidding processes employed by the ABC Company. The professional relationship between buyer and supplier is also discussed.
