- Abstract
The article presents a review of a study conducted to determine if transconjunctival sutureless vitrectomy (TSV) can prevent leakage from sclerotomy sites. A case study of a woman who underwent phacoemulsification combined with 23-gauge TSV in both eyes is presented. A month after surgery conjunctival nevus-like lesions were found in the sclerotomy sites in both eyes. There was speculation that melanin pigments leaked and post operative examination is recommended for patients after undergoing 23-gauge TSV.
