- Title
DAVIDIC COMPLICITY IN THE DEATHS OF ABNER AND ESHBAAL.
- Authors
Vanderkam, James C.
- Abstract
The article investigates the possibility of Davidic complicity in the assassination of the Biblical figures of Abner and Eshbaal, from a historical and reductionist point of view. A review of King David's rise to power is presented. Topics addressed include the reason which led Saul to suspect David as a rival to his throne at a very early stage and observation that reductional analysis agrees with the historical conclusion that David masterminded Abner's murder.
