- Abstract
AQP4 is one of the aquaporins, which is widely expressed in the brain tissue, and is the channel in the brain tissue controlling water pass in and out. In recent years, the function and expression of AQP4 was found to be closely related to brain edema. In the same time, brain edema is the pathological progress which is closely related to brain diseases. The research of the two may bring us more new ideas of clinical treatment. This paper reviewed the structure, expression, regulation, function of AQP4 and the advances in AQP4 and brain edema research.
