- Abstract
The article focuses on Charles René Forbes de Montalembert who founded the liberal Catholic politics in France. Topics discussed include the founding of the Catholic bloc by Montalembert in the French Monarchy, the creation of the Second Empire of France through the July Revolution and Louis-Phillipe of Orleans's representative monarchy in the 1830-1848 and the attempt of Second Republic, and the intervention of Montalembert to prevent the Society of Jesus's banning in the country.
