- Abstract
The article discusses the the career and scientific pursuits of British astronomer William Herschel, focusing on his efforts to construct telescope reflectors (mirrors). Various refracting telescope parts are detailed, including the eyepiece and objective lens. Herschel's use of these reflectors in his studies of nebulae and star clusters is also examined by the author. The effects of Herschel's reflectors on the manipulation of light within his telescopes are detailed. The efforts of Herschel's sister in recording his astronomical observations are also discussed.
