In this article the author discusses the dynamics of academic-media collaboration in placing geography as a topic into the media. The author argues that broader public attention is being paid to environmental and geographical issues as a result of their focus in academia. Topics include the role that media can play in informing the public about important scientific debates and developments that will affect their lives regarding geography.
