- Abstract
This text presents an analysis of the situation senarios proposed to study Aboriginal diversity around 1980 in five series of humanities textbooks. The analysis characterizes the functions and dimensions associated with problematization. The study's results reveal a predominance of the functions of guidance and of stimulating interest, as well as the mobilization of epistemological and psychological dimensions from a descriptive standpoint. As a result, the problematizing involved is centred on a presentation of knowledge arranged in a way that is intended to be appealing to students, but that remains situated on the sidelines of knowledge.
