- Abstract
The article discusses the complications of coeliac disease (CD) despite the intervention of a gluten-free diet (GFD). It notes that GFD is the symptoms relief and complication prevention including the mortality of CD. It indicates the authors' findings of mucosal healing concerned mortality risks which include autoimmune disease, malignancy and impaired quality of life. It states that complications of CD can occur years after the diagnosis of the disease but risks increases in the first year.
