- Abstract
The article discusses a research on the relevance of plasma free triiodothyronine (fT3) levels in baboons undergoing pig organ transplantation to early recovery of organ function. It examines the decline of the level of plasma fT3 following brain death or during surgical procedures. It proposes that hormonal replacement therapy may reverse deterioration of organ function following brain death or open heart surgery.
