- Abstract
This article discusses the literary works of the late novelist Mordecai Richler. He cites Richler's essay collection "Hunting Tigers Under Glass" which he wrote in 1968. The author notes that Richler's place within the Canadian literature was always questioned. In his novel "The Acrobats," Richler targeted the weaknesses of a Canadian artist. According to the author, Richler's other three novels are focused on topics of allegorical sacrifice, violent killing, social ostracism of weak male characters and death.
