- Abstract
The present study was conducted to determine the occurrence of the Glucose Desidrogenase (G-6-PD) deficiency in inhabitants of Cacoal city, State of Rondônia. The used method was the Brewer's where the haemoglobin converts into metahemoglobina in the presence of the Glucose Sodium Nitrite, and occurs the reconversion in hemoglobina after the addition of methylene blue. Was assays had been carried through examinations in 129 volunteers samples, with age varing by 3 to 81 years old, being 54 (42%) men and 75 (58%) women, where found 3.1% of positive samples for deficiency of enzyme G-6-PD. The positive samples had been a three of the feminine sex and positive sample of the masculine sex. The presence of persons with deficiency of the G-6-PD in the Cacoal city show the alert for the public health services, for execution the assay in the routine, a time that also has presence of clinical cases of malaria, beyond being of easy execution and low cost.
