- Abstract
The existing curriculum of English courses being taught at the elementary and secondary level is inadequate, and fails to equip our freshmen with the skills essential to make them effective communicators. The study assesses the potential of the 'multimedia language lab' as an effective supplement to an English language program for improving communication skills. The subjects of the study were students of Business Administration Program registered in the English Oral Communication course. The data was collected from pre and post semester tests of the subjects, a questionnaire survey administered to the subjects at the end of the semester, and observations and evaluations of the lab teachers. The results indicate that majority of students have a positive attitude towards the use of multimedia resources, and experience a significant improvement in their oral communication skills.
