Images in vascular medicine: Isolated lower extremity vasculitis in a patient with polymyalgia rheumatica.
- Authors
Kermani, Tanaz A.; Warrington, Kenneth J.
- Abstract
The article presents a study of a 51-year-old woman who was diagnosed of polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) due to rapidly progressive bilateral lower extremity (LE) claudication. It mentions that the hypertension was the only cardiovascular risk factor of the patient. It states that the computed tomography angiogram (CTA) revealed long segments of high-grade narrowing of bilateral superficial femoral arteries. It notes that imaging modalities such as CTA are helpful in diagnosis.
