- Abstract
More than that, however, Bonheim also presents it as a significant choice for the rediscovery of Böhme from a strictly philosophical point of view: this is not a devotional work, but a dense philosophical summary, which testifies to Böhme's speculative development up to 1620. Bonheim rightly lays emphasis on the philosophical vocabulary displayed by Böhme in this text, starting with one of the most famous terms, I Ungrund i , used to define a perspective on the divine being not in relation to its creation, but in its absolute state, as undefinable nothingness. Out of the nine available manuscript copies, Bonheim restricts the edition to four. 11 Also noted by Andersson on the basis of the word I erkandtniß i , normalised by Bonheim in I Erkanntnis i - not I Erkenntnis i , because presumably Bonheim took the "a" to be acoustically significant (p. 3 and 10).
