The article focuses on analysis of relationship between Roman Jakobson and Charles Sanders Peirce. Topics discussed include introduction of Peirce's semiotics approaches by Jakobson in language-oriented inquiry; usage of Peirce's services for icons and symbols in "Brain and Language" periodical by Jakobson; and consideration of signs significance in languages by Jakobson in the "Quest for the Essence of Language" book.
