- Title
INTRODUCTION: VIOLENCE AND NONVIOLENCE IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT.
- Authors
FIALA, ANDREW
- Abstract
The author examines the importance of the connection between non-violence and ecology, asserting how to develop and deepen this connection. The idea of finding a way to carve out an environmentally sustainable niche and a separate peace apart from the world has deep roots that may go all the way back to the monks and philosophers. A key idea is that self and other are interrelated and thus that violence against any living being is also violence against the self.
