- Abstract
The article discusses prevention of accidental suffocation and strangulation in bed (ASSB), a sleep-related infant death. Topics discussed include role of soft bedding and loose objects to cause airway obstruction and therefore increase the risk of rebreathing; importance of learning about infant safe sleep practices and concepts at multiple touchpoints to new parents; and role of Neonatal intensive care unit nurses to helping parents transition to home care.
