- Abstract
Iliopsoas tendinopathy is a chronic degenerative condition that occurs due to repeated flexion of the hip joint and restricts the patient's physical activities. Case presentation: A 20-year-old female squash player presented with right iliopsoas tendinopathy. Her problem started with a sharp ache in her upper thigh, while running and exercising. To help her return to sports, she received high-intensity laser therapy (HILT), and eccentric-biased training. The Visual Analogue Scale, Global Rating of Change Scale and Manual Muscle Testing scores all improved after the interventions shown at follow-up. Conclusions: Eccentric-biased exercise, in conjunction with HILT was effective in the rehabilitation of this patient with iliopsoas tendinopathy.
