- Abstract
The article discusses the copyright-related controversies surrounding an emerging music genre called mashup. Creation of music under this genre constitutes copying, joining, and mixing parts of original copyrighted songs into a new form, the process of which, according to the article, may be considered a from of copyright infringement. Topics discussed in detail include the history of mashup music, its clash with copyright rules, and arguments that are in favor and against this genre.
