The article discusses a study focusing on pediatric patients with septic shock and the association of hyperchloremia with acute kidney injury in them. Topics discussed include the increased risk of mortality and organ failures due to hyperchloremia in pediatric septic shock patients; the estimation of baseline creatinine in the patients; and the amount of chloride given to the patients.
