- Title
U.S. National Quality Award.
- Abstract
The bill introduced in the last U.S. Congress, to introduce a National Quality Award, has run into opposition from the American Society for Quality Control (ASQC). The bill, which was not passed but which is expected to be re-introduced, would provide for awards to be presented to companies which demonstrated quality performance and improvement. Judgement would be by a board of examiners, who would consider a wide range of factors, such as development and service. The ASQC's objections are based on the perceived vagueness of the Bill in specifying criteria.
