The article focuses on the development and the deployment of specialized computing systems for specific research communities that is cost effective and having a wide range of benefits. The free and open source software provides ready-made solutions and includes important attributes like speed, stability, security and the potential to integrate effectively into existing networked environments that gives users access to information traditionally available at the largest research centers.
