- Abstract
The article refers to the Framingham Heart and Framingham Osteoporosis studies with a focus on the heritability of femoral bone traits and leg lean mass (LLM). Bivariate genome-wide linkage analysis was used to investigate quantitative trait loci that might be associated with bone strength, osteoporosis, and sarcopenia. Possible chromosomal locations of genes affecting LLM and femoral bone geometry were identified.
