RESEARCH NEWS.
Abstract
The article reports that Arup Indra and Mark Leid of Oregon State University (OSU) have identified a gene in the body that seems to serve as a master regulator for skin development. Indra says that the gene, called CTIP2, is important in lipid biosynthesis and may help scientists in finding therapies for skin diseases or addressing the effects of skin aging. He notes the next step in the research will be to find how to affect the gene's expression.
