- Abstract
This article discusses a case of autoimmune glial fibrillary acidic protein-antibody astrocytopathy (GFAP-astrocytopathy) presenting with headache and bilateral optic disc swelling. The patient experienced symptoms such as frequent headache, eye pain, fatigue, and weight loss after a febrile illness. The diagnosis was made through CSF GFAP-antibody testing, and the patient responded well to corticosteroid treatment. The article highlights the importance of considering inflammatory and infective causes of optic disc edema and emphasizes the need for thorough investigations including brain imaging and CSF examination.
