- Title
PREVENTING POSTOPERATIVE NAUSEA AND VOMITING: IS THE ANSWER IN YOUR HANDS?
- Authors
Collins, Angela Smith
- Abstract
The author explores views on postoperative nausea and vomiting prevention. She cites acupressure stimulation therapy to Neiguan point (P6) as one complimentary therapy that has minimal side effects and good outcomes. P6 stimulation can work as pharmacological antiemetic therapies. The author also suggests that findings from a study of a patient undergoing cardiac surgery by Y. Korinenko et al can be used to lead a discussion with the anesthesia care providers and surgical staff in a care facility.
