- Abstract
The article reports on the introduction of various technologies that would help reduce carbon dioxide emissions or cut greenhouse-gas emissions worldwide. In support with the environmental-friendly calling, several industrial companies have resorted to the use of improved solvents and solid sorbents as well as the designing of various technologies that would put carbon dioxide to beneficial use such as enhanced oil recovery and its transformation to chemical products. One of these companies is Germany-based BASF AG which introduces newer amines which only require less energy for absorption and desorption. Another is Powerspan Corp. which exploits ammonia as more effective in reducing carbon dioxide than amines.
