- Abstract
The article discusses the process of implementing a community based participatory research (CBPR) project. According to the article, CBPR has three major overlapping components which are participatory research and knowledge gain, education and social action to improve health and reduce health disparities. It relates a CBPR project in the inner city Houston, Texas, called the Magnolia Park Assessment, Intervention and Mobilization (AIM) project initiated by the Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS).
