- Abstract
The article discusses the significance of civil jury diversity. It examines jury service as an aspect of political participation in a democratic society, the role of the jury in establishing the legitimacy of verdicts and the legal system, and jury service as an opportunity to learn about the operation of the judicial system and learn about and communicate with fellow members of the political community. The article also discusses the diversity as defined in the U.S. Supreme Court case Batson v. Kentucky.
