A critique is presented of poems by 20th century Jamaican women such as "City Blues" by Christine Craig, "Dreamer" by Jean Binta Breeze, and "Last Lines" by Pam Mordecai. Political aspects of the poems, the poet's commentaries on social classes, and foreign influences on Jamaican culture are also discussed.
