- Abstract
M-type strontium hexaferrites SrLaFeCo(MnNd)O ( x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) were prepared by the ceramic methodology. Crystalline structure, morphology and magnetic properties of the samples were studied via X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), respectively. Single-phase have been observed at x value in the ranged from 0.0 to 0.2. When x ≥ 0.3, the LaCoO phase is observed. The results of scanning electronic microscopy show that the grains are regular hexagonal platelets with sizes from 1 to 4 µm. It is observed that the value of saturation magnetization ( M ) and the coercivity force ( H ) all increased after doping. The values of saturation magnetization first increases at low substitutions ( x ≤ 0.2), and then decreases at x ≥ 0.3. The H has a similar trend with M , but the coercivity force is small change with the x value in the ranged from 0.1 to 0.4. In this experiment, the magnetic properties of the sintered magnets at x = 0.2 reach the maximum values.
