- Title
Rhyme at the Fall in Paradise Lost.
- Authors
Lomas, Benjamin
- Abstract
The article offers poetry criticism of the epic poem "Paradise Lost" by John Milton and on the poem's use of rhymes. It mentions changes in the 10-book first edition and the 12-book second edition published six years later. It comments on the use of fallen rhymes in the poem including the word eat which is often corrected as ate in modern editions, and compares this to his use of rhyming couplets in "L'Allegro" which was published in his 1645 "Poems."
