- Abstract
Considering that ecological speciation itself is fragile (Gow et al., 2006), ecological and phenotypic patterns in the same evolutionary radiation change over time from the pattern of non-adaptive radiation to that of adaptive radiation, and vice versa. Keywords: Adaptive radiation; ecological speciation; incipient radiation; non-adaptive radiation; reproductive isolation EN Adaptive radiation ecological speciation incipient radiation non-adaptive radiation reproductive isolation 127 129 3 04/13/22 20220401 NES 220401 Our paper intends to reply to Kagawa's comment paper (2021), "Towards a mechanism-based classification of evolutionary radiations", which raised an important question about "the definition of adaptive/non-adaptive radiation and its applicability to interpret evolutionary radiations" reported by Matsubayashi and Yamaguchi (2021). Ecological speciation, non-adaptive radiation, reproductive isolation, Adaptive radiation, incipient radiation.
