- Title
Human Disease: Next-generation sequencing of the next generation.
- Authors
Burgess, Darren J.
- Abstract
The article presents a study which proves the feasibility of the use of next-generation sequencing for genome-wide fetal genotyping. The study uses a maternal plasma which was compared to the paternal and maternal alleles. It reveals that the examination of the paternally-inherited alleles showed the readable plasma sequence of the entire genome with the precise genotype. It also cites that the accuracy of the study was confirmed using fetal DNA gathered through chorionic villus sampling.
