- Abstract
The experiences of labor technostress derived from the compulsory virtuality for prevention of the Covid-19 in a group of university teachers from the city of Medellin are described. For this, the definitions of labor technostress and its relationship with the social psychology of work were addressed, while defense strategies and the processes of adaptation, habituation and familiarization are explained. Finally, the profession and functions of university teachers are specified. Regarding the method, this study was characterized by being qualitative with a descriptive approach. Six semi-structured interviews applied to a group of university professors from the private sector of the city of Medellín were included as the main instrument. Regarding the results, the causes, symptoms, adaptation processes, familiarization, habituation, and defense strategies with which workers reduce occupational technostress were identified. In this sense, the causes of techno-stress can be due to external or internal factors at work, these causes include symptoms, adaptive processes and in other cases it causes discomfort due to the constant or inappropriate use of ICT, to reduce discomfort and techno-stress is used defense strategies, in order to avoid pathologizing in university teachers.
