- Title
Exposure to non-asbestos refractory materials: Corrections of fiber counts for comparable risk assessment.
- Authors
Ares, J.
- Abstract
The article presents a study on furnace shop workers' exposure to non-asbestos refractory materials, and proposes a fiber count correction system for comparative risk assessment. The study conducted two working routines at the anode baking shop, which correspond to protection operations at the furnaces. Results show the similarity in reference respirable fiber (RRF) and Pott's pathogenic fiber (PPF) numbers, and are lower fiber counts.
