- Title
Watching the Detectives: a successful policy intervention in Victoria.
- Authors
Kidd, Paul
- Abstract
The article offers information about the Victoria Police (VicPol) policy and the intervention undertaken by non-profit group Living Positive Victoria (LPV). It notes that the VicPol policy requires law enforcement recruits to disclose medical history related to infection from blood borne viruses (BBV) in order to prevent risk of occupational exposure. It cites LPV's response that the policy should not be implemented because it violates Australia's Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
