Abstract

With average annual precipitation, temperature, lake water level data of Tianshan station, Joel - Ata station in Issyk-Kul Lake basin during 1961-2010 and via trend analysis, wavelet transform, the paper analyses variation trend of average precipitation, temperature, lake water level of the basin, as well as the multi-time scale interrelationship between lake water level and climatic factors. The study shows that: Issyk-Kul lake water level tends to significantly decrease in recent 50 years, average annual temperature of the basin shows significant upward trend, while increasing trend of the average annual precipitation is not significant; from periodic variation characteristic, the lake water level is with 22 years primary cycle, which is consistent with the sunspot activity cycle, average annual precipitation of the basin stations is with 9 years primary cycle, and the average annual temperature is with 4-5-year primary cycle. In the mountainous areas, precipitation, temperature and water level of Issyk-Kul lake basin show a significant positive correlation, while mainly significant negative correlation in the plain area.
