- Abstract
This article attempts to analyze the social and private benefits and costs of on-the-job training for American Indians. Specifically, the article determines the economic effectiveness of an on-the-job training administered by the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Oklahoma from 1960 to 1966. The article finds that the program has led to increases in trainee earnings and has resulted in social benefit-cost ratios ranging from 7.6 to 29.4.
