- Abstract
The article focuses on the first competition law in El Salvador which took effect on January 1, 2006. It says that the law uses consistent enforcement standards with best practices in the global competition community and provides the La Superintendencia de Competencia (Superintendency) agency. It states that law also provides for merger control particularly pre-merger notification. It adds that Superintendency's judicial review of its decisions with imposition of sanctions have been appealed.
