The article discusses the concept of the interface in all forms--physical, technological, linguistic, philosophical, etc. Topics discussed include the continuing relevance of the core concepts of Karl Marx and Sigmund Freud in critical social theory, even in the changed social and economic conditions of the 21st century, which are described as a kind of playful capitalism that combines romanticism and systems theory.
