- Abstract
The article focuses on authors' rights workshop of academic librarians, considering their dual roles as both liaisons and authors to teaching and research faculty. It discusses the importance of training librarians in authorship to further hone their knowledge of copyright negotiation and transfer. It uses the Rights Well Workshop designed at Oregon State University (OSU) Libraries to demonstrate the significance of the training. It highlights a workshop which provides a model that can be used by librarians when teaching faculty members in other disciplines regarding author rights. It states that the workshop was developed to integrate academic communication activities into a subject liaison program. It emphasizes the publishers' practices that are pertinent to the aimed discipline.
