- Abstract
Crustacean species assemblages in mountain shallow ponds: Parque Cañi (38°S Chile). In its surrounding zones, there are mountains, lakes and small lagoons generated by volcanic activity (Niemeyer & Cereceda, 1984). The region of Northern Chilean Patagonia is characterized by the presence of both active and extinct volcanoes, that generate a marked influence in their geography and geomorphology, including the origins of rivers, and of lakes and lagoons (Campos, 1984; Niemeyer & Cereceda, 1984; Van Deale et al., 2014). Littoral crustaceans in mountain lakes of Huerquehue National Park (38°S, Araucania Region, Chile).
